Treatment Options

Acupuncture (Full Body Treatment)

While DRT is a great way to get relief from anxiety and tension, many patients will want to go deeper to address their specific health concerns.  Full body acupuncture offers customized therapy and a comprehensive treatment plan to address your individual health needs.  The first session includes a complete medical history, physical exam, and initial treatment.  It lasts a full 2 hours.  Subsequent sessions last 90 minutes.  Each treatment builds on the last to bring you closer to the results you are seeking.  In the beginning, treatments should be once or twice per week, and less frequent later on.  You may notice results from your very first treatment.  But it is better to plan on coming in for a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks before making an evaluation of your benefits.  The great majority of my patients have seen considerable improvement by that time.

Deep Relaxation Therapy (DRT)

 Looking for relief from anxiety, tension, and stress?  Interested in a spa-style treatment that leaves you feeling pampered, relaxed, and refreshed?  Deep Relaxation Therapy may be just what you are looking for.  DRT combines a minimal amount of acupuncture with soothing music therapy, aromatherapy, and a warm foot wrap.  The result is an hour-long immersion in tranquility and relaxation that reminds you what it is like to feel stress-free.  Your body will thank you for it.

Insurance Coverage

I am a Preferred Provider and a Specialist with all Blue Cross, Carefirst, and Blue Choice affiliates.  Most of these providers do provide coverage for acupuncture.  In order to determine what  coverage your specific policy offers, we will need your permission to do an insurance verification.  This simply involves having you fill out and sign a Patient Registration Form with all your insurance information.  The verification usually takes 2 to 7 days to get done.  Your first appointment can be scheduled in the meantime. 

Because DRT treatments have an acupuncture component, any plan that covers acupuncture will also pay for DRT.

Insurance providers such as United Health Care, Aetna, and Cigna, may also cover acupuncture.  We can verify your coverage the same way with them.  However, because I do not participate directly with those plans, you will need to pay for all treatments out of pocket and then seek reimbursement directly from your provider.  I will provide you with a complete treatment receipt which you can submit for payment.
